What strengths of whitening gel are commonly used in Canada? What’s the difference between hydrogen peroxide and carbamide peroxide gels?
Hydrogen peroxide (HP) acts quickly and is ideal for in-office sessions. Carbamide peroxide (CP) oxidizes slowly, supporting continued whitening after the appointment and helping manage sensitivity. Blending allows for the best of both worlds. Fern’s Signature HP/CP blend is designed to deliver both immediate and extended results.
Provider method gels: 37%, 35% and 25%. These gels are required or recommended with gingival barrier and are for you providing the chairside service.
Self Application method gels: 18%. This gel strength does not require a gingival barrier but is still stronger than take home gel. This can be applied in self administered locations by syringe or pen style.
Will these gels work with my current whitening light?
Yes, our gels are compatible with most professional lights. For the shortest chairtime and consistent outcomes, we recommend pairing with the BEYOND II Ultra Accelerator.
How should I store whitening gel, and what is the shelf life?
Store syringes in a cool, dry place away from direct light. Refrigeration is recommended upon arrival. When properly stored 18-24 months.
